First Tee – Greater Richmond’s Senior League is a golf league made up of men 55 years of age and older from the Richmond area. The League meets weekly at The Tattersall Youth Development Center every Wednesday morning throughout the year.
The league plays different formats, ranging from individual stroke play to team formats such as captain’s choice and best ball. The league uses handicaps, and golfers are flighted each week to ensure balance each week. The league follows USGA rules and some local rules created by the club and the senior league committee.
In order to join the league you must pay the $45 registration fee and have an active handicap through the USGA. If you don’t have an active handicap, you can purchase one for $35 at the Tattersall Pro Shop.
New for 2023, Sponsor a Member: Earn a free round during league play when you bring a friend who registers for the league.
The greens fees for Senior League play are as follows:
- Tattersall Member Walking – $11.00
- Tattersall Member Riding – $19.00
- Senior League Non-Tattersall Member Walking – $30.00
- Senior League Non-Tattersall Member Riding – $44.00
Included in your greens fees is a weekly prize pool. Following each round, the league will have a payout for each flight.
Also included in your greens fee is a hole-in-one fund. Every week $1 is allocated to the hole-in-one fund for every player participating. If someone gets a hole-in-one during league play, the entire accumulated fund will be put into their prize account. The minimum amount to be paid out will be $100.
The Senior League Championship will be two rounds of individual stroke play beginning October 4th and concluding on the 11th. The aggregate score will be counted towards awarding a net and gross champion. Additionally prize money will be awarded by flight. An awards ceremony will be held following the second round of the championship, along with a catered lunch. The greens fee/cart fee and lunch is included in the senior league registration fee.
